SO just received notice from Cap One:
$3k increase!
And for DPs: SO is currently *over* the credit limit by $13 lol and they gave him a $3k increase!
He started with a Secured Plat in 3/2020 with a SL of $500 > $800 (credit steps increase) that *graduated less than 3 months ago* (also an unusal time to give a CLI) and deposit was credited back to his account. He immediately PC'd to QS (no AF). We have gotten the statement cut dates mostly wrong these past few months, reporting high balances most every month, except for this month it reported <10% util.
Surprisingly, we have not really worked very hard to cycle the limit, at all really, which blindsided me. We have only been spending the $800+/- and paying it off. I had to really work my limit for increases.
For comparison on my unsecured Plat, PC'd to QS (no AF) at 100d from account opening, I went from:
$300 SL > $500 (credit steps) > $1k (auto) > $1.1k (requested) > $4.1k (auto).
The last one was also a $3k CLI, same as SO's CLI. Color me green because he skipped a bunch of time and BS with the increases. His scores and reports have improved drastically, of course, since account opening.
I wanted to highlight this CLI post not just for congratulations, but for the fact that secured Cap One CCs can not only graduate, but get meaningful CLIs! I would highly recommend it, based on my experience with it, to any (re)builders.
SO's scores (not sure if they still use EQ5 for CLIs, but his is quite strong, considering he still has an active CO and "nuisance" CA - which is still factored into EQ5 scoring - reporting):
I need to double check ACR to see when Cap One did their last SP to see if these are the scores they actually used for the CLI.
