@Credible Basically, they are scoring my profile without any data to work from. A zero history score is not something I have read about and we know that you need six months to generate a FICO score (so they have data to calculate from). But what is the starting point for generating that score? For VS, I theorize that anything that is added to that "no history" profile either adds or subtracts from that starting point. Not from 300 and not from 850, but from 742. I think that is interesting. I have no idea if the data point is actually useful (or correct). But it is a data point. Edit for clarity.

I guess I'm not understanding where they get their arbitrary "ratings" that are listed in letter grade form. I mean, with no data, you can you have an A+ for payment history when you have no payment history... how can you have a B for debt usage when you have none, etc? All of those ratings should be "N/A" IMO.

But they are not... And that reveals something about the algorithm that VS is using. I think. One of our number who has a better grasp of the workings of these types of algorithms my be able to tell us if I found a useful data point or if I'm hunting snipes.
