Affinity inquiries/score versions

I have come to learn that for auto loans Affinity uses the enhanced score, therefore that inquiry cannot be reused. Otherwise inquiries can be reused within 30 days just not car loan inquiries. So EX8 & EX8 Auto.

Are they EX across the board for everything?

I thought I read somewhere about EQ being used, but maybe I'm crossing wires across lenders.

I hate to make a blanket statement, but it's my understanding that they are EX only. I applied for membership, Cash Rewards Visa, and an auto loan all at once which resulted in just 1 HP on EX.

@SoonerSoldier33 That’s pretty awesome, can you go back and look and see if you had a score change the following day or that day and then see whether you had one exactly 30 days later? Because I wonder if they can request two score versions with one pull and if that’s what happened? And if so, did they treat that as a credit card pull or a loan pull? Because I know the car loan pull cd not also be used for a credit card cli because it only had the auto score. When pressed, their reason was because it was a car score & the regular score was used for credit card. Otherwise they could’ve still used it within the 30 days without a problem they said. But I wonder if all of theirs are coded as loan and therefore would deduplicate anyway?

Sorry for the massive delay responding to this. In my experience, they can absolutely request 2 score versions with one HP. Last October, I applied for membership, checking, savings, Cash Rewards Visa, and an auto loan up to $35K all at the same time. I received 1 HP on EX coded as 'Credit Union', and I do not know how that compares to a 'Bank Card' or a 'Loan' HP for deduplication purposes. In my paperwork for my credit products, it showed that they used EX8 for my Cash Rewards Visa and EX Auto 8 for my auto loan...both from the same HP. I did not receive any additional HPs from Affinity later, and it was my 3rd scoreable HP on my EX file which resulted in a 1 point score loss on my EX8 (dirty scorecard).

@SoonerSoldier33 yeah haven’t been around enough myself lately LOL but thank you that’s great information to know that confirms they can get multiple scores with one pull, so if you’re gonna get hybrid products from them you can do it with one pull, they just have to know ahead of time, that’s good info!! My 1 point score loss occurred the day I applied and the HP hit my EX report. I got no other score loss.
