I've purchased a few T Bills instead of CDs lately. They're beating CD rates, plus no state income tax on them. I also checked brokered CDs from Fidelity which are also beating non brokered CDs from banks / CUs. T Bills:

Man, I miss the CD rates in the 80s. I had a couple of 5 year CDs back then that were 10.84% and 11.xx%.

okay as someone studying finance and way too young I barely was in the 90s, doesn't that mean credit was super costly?

Not really sure. I was born in the late 70s and the first 2 CDs given to me were by family members in 1985 at those rates that I referenced. It wasn't until the late 90s when I was of credit age that I ever started really looking at anything that mattered to be honest.

Mortgage rates were over 10% in the 80s.
