"Requesting a credit card limit increase no longer affects clients' credit score
Higher credit card limits offer additional flexibility for our clients, letting them make larger card purchases or consider transferring balances from cards with other banks. We've heard your feedback that a hard credit inquiry associated with requesting a limit increase - and its impact on credit scores - may cause clients to be reluctant to request one. We're excited to announce that as of Feb. 23, we only perform soft inquiries for credit line increase requests - and soft inquiries don't affect clients' credit scores!
Please keep in mind: Credit limit increases and carrying a higher card balance impact a client's credit utilization ratio, which does affect their credit score. If a client has questions about their credit score, suggest they check out Credit Journey - our free, online tool that lets them track their Experian credit score. They can visit the site anytime at chase.com/creditjourney."
