Thanks for the reply BBS. In the past, I've called local dealerships and inquired about scores and more without getting anywhere on the app process. I was hoping someone had been through the process recently. If they pulled the old Exp Auto Scores 5,4 &2 that would not be good as that score is fair. My one and only fair out of all the scores on my MF 3b cr.
My 5,4,2 auto have a pretty wide range as well. EQ hates my profile on this and EX has only started moving up in the last few months. EQ5A: 662, TU4A: 721, EX2A: 675 (highest, lowest and second lowest of all my auto scores). Thankfully I'm not in the market for a vehicle right now but if I were I'd be trying to hunt down any lenders using auto 9 since they're my best scores overall.
I think everyone’s fico9 auto is the most generous lol
I dont think very many lenders use 2,4,5 anymore.
The thing is I don’t really think it matters a ton which they pull because you don’t really know how that lender uses that particular score, I think it is is dangerous to assume all lenders treat all models “750” the same ultimately all of these scores are generated by the same report.
Last year I refi’d my auto loan after 11 months I wasn’t doing it to save money per say, but to remove my co-signer. I paid money to a loan aggregator to find me my loan. I was seeing loans in the 5-9% range on my own and told them to use a lender that uses EQ my best score. I didn’t want a billion inquiries because of the experience I had with my first loan, so I told him he had 1 inquiry and that’s it.
Given I told him I wanted to use EQ and he had exactly 1 shot I was very surprised he used EX, by far my lowest score. When I asked about it, he said “I know what you said but this was going to be your best option based on what I was seeing” he got me 2.74% with the option to make it 2.24% with DD and autopay. It was completely in my favor to use my worst score, and what he found vs what I found “pre-qual” was also in my favor to do something I was loathe to do which is pay someone 450 dollars to find me a loan.
@GApeachy I doubt you can find a 2% loan anywhere today, but ultimately I would not worry about which model, but which lender. I used the lending tree app put in my numbers and got a call (there will be many). If you want the company name I will try to track it down but I do not do referrals.
