These little NES consoles are fun. The 'real' Nintendo ones go for over $200 now but you can get a knock-off like this one for under $30. The knock offs come with 620 games whereas the real Nintendo ones come with 30. I bought a Nintendo brand one when they were affordable and then added the ebay hack to add hundreds of games.

I think it should be criminal that these companies want to charge people who spent untold amounts of dollars on a game previously, on a system that broke or they can't even connect to a TV anymore, to have that nostalgia.
If you ever bought the console - and you ever bought the game, morally you're in the right. Legally, you would need the possession of both items, but nobody who isn't distributing these materials has ever been caught and the DMCA is a bunch of nonsense meant to fatten already huge wallets anyway.
Also, the difference between emulating and buying a knock off is the knock off only sends money to the person doing a blatantly illegal act of profiting off of another's IP and emulating doesn't pay anybody while allowing you to relive your past gaming experiences.
I would be happy to have a Spotify-type service for classic games... Give me Atari through Dreamcast with perfect compatibility and no BS and I'll happily give you 10 bucks a month. Miss me on this "we're going to bring back a classic console you already bought, with games you already bought, and make you pay again" bs.
