New account segmentation on 2/4/5

Is it 18 months on all 3? I know that it has been verified to be 18 on months for EX2, but wasn't sure if that was also the case on TU4/EQ5?

Yes all 4! 2/3/4/5 IIRC. I think the CSP has the links.

So interesting here. It appears that I have not received scorecard reassignment to No New Revolver on TU4 yet. The 2 negative reason codes I have on my 775 score are 1. Too many AWB (I'm currently at 100%) and 2. Time since opening most recent account too short.

The last 2 accounts I opened were revolvers in June of 2021, meaning that on December 1, 2022 I reached 18 months of account age on those revolvers. I had a score pull generated on 12/7/22 from my mortgage lender and I've still got those same 2 negative reason codes present and no score increase. I guess I'll see what my January score looks like? As of Jan 1 a few days ago both of those accounts should be 19 months old.

Thoughts anyone? Is it possible that on older models the date during the month when an account opened may play a factor?

Hey @Cassie , I think there may be a factor related to date of account opening and account age with the older models, particularly TU4 that sort of goes in hand with what you have suggested regarding VS3. So my youngest revolver (and account) was opened on June 28, 2021. From what we know of F8 and newer, that account would be 1 month old 3 days after opening on July 1. I expected to see scorecard reassignment with TU4 at 18 months, or in December of 2022. My pull in December (8th or 9th) showed the same two negative reason statements, one being "time since opening most recent account too short." That negative reason statement went away with my January pull, which by our understood calculations should have been when the account was 19 months of age. My TU4 score moved from 775 to 809 when that negative statement dropped off, clear evidence IMO that scorecard reassignment took place. So that makes me wonder then if me opening the account very late in the month for some reason on TU4 since it's an older model means that the account didn't actually age on the 1st of the following month since it was just a few days later... your thoughts?

We'll have to watch for this going forward, but now I think we're going to find you're right. We're going to need a graph and a way to switch between 'aging from the 1st' and 'aging from exact date' to find out. Now I'm really anxious to get that working.

Do you think it's only with the older models / are you sufficiently satisfied that on F8+ that this isn't an issue?

I think it would only be with the older models. All 4 of my revolving accounts show an exact opening date that is later than the 13th that VantageScore uses as a midpoint. My closed SSL was opened on Dec 7, 2017, but all of those account ages have been in sync on my MF monthly 3B reports - but this is probably only for the F8 models. My VS3 revolving account ages are always 1 month behind FICO's. The SSL - opened on the 7th - matches FICO's (5y2m now). Now I'm wondering if VantageScore started designing their algorithms with the 2,4,5's as a starting point and picked up that 'greater than 13th of the month' from one or all of them. For now, I'm going to add something to our own aging calculator: "FICO Aging using exact opening date" You won't have to re-enter all your accounts.

Cool, I'd like to know the exact date if we're ever able to figure that one out for 2/4/5.

Not sure, the only mortgage score I regularly (monthly) track is TU4.

I seem to remember it being a month off. Once I get caught up, I’ll go back and check everything. Plus I’m gonna start being able to edit the primer soon I think, I hope.

It feels so sad to bump a thread where Birdman had been the last one to post. God, I miss that guy!

Anyway, I have a DP but I’ve lost track of how significant it is. My AoYA and AoYRA hit 12 months today. EX2 didn’t budge. TU4 went up 15 points. EQ5 went up 6 points.
