For the first time in over ten years, I received a pre-approved credit card offer. The Bread Cashback American Express Card with 2% and redemption at 1 to 1 so to speak. 35.24%, 31.24%, or 20.74%, based upon your creditworthiness. This APR will vary with the market based on the Prime Rate. Pretty steep. A no balance carrying card or why bother with the rewards? Do not need more category cards and was just wondering if this card was worth the effort? Looking for ideas? Thanks fellow CRs! Appreciate your views. Do have the Citi Double Cashback Mastercard and use it. Gave the Wells Fargo 2% some consideration but I left WF back in 2010 due to the happenings you are aware of.

A 2% card with nothing going on… Do you have another or better 2% card seems pretty lackluster to me.

I would go for the PayPal Cashback over this card personally. 3% on PayPal comes in handy. It does have a FTF though while the Bread card does not so if that's important to you, I would go for the Bread.

I don't really care for Comenity though (Bread = Comenity). They were very stingy to me while Synchrony has always been crazy generous.

Also, Wells Fargo is offering $200 when you get the Active Cash and spend $500 which is way more value than most people would get out of a 2% card in a year that doesn't have a SUB.

CRs Appreciate your guidance and feedback. Placed my first preapproval in ten years in that designated circular barrel. Truth, reality has set in, and I am faced with the "I don't really need" the card.

If you need a 2% card, might as well pick one with a nice intro offer ($200?). Or the SoFi with 2.2%, with conditions. Or the citi Double Cash for 2.22% for the first extra $100 per year with syncing to the Rewards+. Or the controversial 2.2% upgrade Cash Rewards Elite Visa with a $200 bonus (was $400 when I got it). Or, the PayPal that @@Saeren mentioned for 2% every day and 3% when you can use PP. With the 3% AOD nerfed, I am exploring all my options for non-cat spending now. I'd really like to get more than 2% on non-cat spend. Still thinking. I have until July.....

The Double Cash has a $200 SUB for spending $1500 in 6 months right now too.

I personally wouldn't go with Comenity for a 2% card. I've never had a card with them, but after what happened last year with them massively screwing up reporting, payments, and online access for basically all of their accounts for several months, I likely never will.
