Got another denial on my BCP for a CLI recently. It's not unexpected as I still have the BK reporting, but want to get people's thoughts regarding something I've seen a couple of other sites. I've heard from a couple people that I should cool it with my periodic CLI requests given my scores and the BK reporting, or I may trigger a financial review. Is there any real likelihood of this? I've had the card 18 months and attempted 3 times knowing I likely would be denied (I've only seen a few DPs of getting a CLI till it falls off). I don't carry a balance (PIF every month so I would hope the CLI requests don't make me look like an elevated risk. This card doesn't get a ton of spend, but it's pretty consistent and the lowest limit of the 3 cards I use frequently.

What is the limit in relation to your income?

Amex slow walked me on limit increases for 12-18 months with no bk and then just opened the flood gates and increased my limit by 50x my starting limit over about 9 months despite being below 50% my limit and BBS stating they have a soft cap at 66% of your income have not gotten a cli since. Not complaining would never make a dent in the limit, but it sounds like they are going to be gun shy of that bk for awhile more. One day though they will just start giving you crazy increases.

I'm only at 6.2% of income so it's gotta be the BK that's keeping them gun shy. I'll just have to wait it out. I really can't complain too much since they gave me $5k to start which is usable when a lot of ppl with dirty profiles have gotten the $1k SL. On a tangent, I find it interesting that each time I've request a CLI they've given me a survey about the CLI process within minutes of the denial. It's very carefully worded so as to only invite feedback on the process and not the result. It's worded to say without saying, we don't want any feedback on the result, just tell us if it was easy to request and did we communicate our response clearly.
