I got my card coming at least but jeez, what a punch to the gut with that price! Even with 3% off for my associate's discount that was a hell of price to pay lol. Screenshot 2021-10-12 0026302.png What's funny is when I went to link my BCE to PayPal, it offered to do it automatically by connecting with AMEX and when it brought up my cards to pick from, the BCP image was showing so I should get my $150 credited pretty quickly. I'm going to throw a dollar or two on there from my mobile game too so they can see I don't intend to SD the card again.

How about some more pain to go with that video card? lol The whole concept looks very appealing to me, but I would go with the bottom one.

I don't think many would residential wise. At my job we've got a 152" projector screen. With ~15' ceilings though it's doable with the bottom of the screen ~6' off the floor.

I measured for an Anamorphic Widescreen 2.39:1 (35MM film) format in that room and the screen would only have to be around 5 feet high with frame included. It's 12 and a half feet wide though! The one I have now, in the picture above, is just a $40 4' x 8' 1/4" thick sheet from Home Depot that I painted with a special primer and color using instructions from here: https://www.projectorcentral.com/paint_ ... e%20Screen The projector is mounted on the ceiling about 14 feet from the screen, and there is a long couch directly underneath it. The room is 30' x 26', I think. It was great for a Superbowl party with the game on the screen. Then afterward it switched to Wii party games when everyone was intoxicated. (Wii Ski on the balance board is great at that time.)

Sounds like a good time!

Speaking of Superbowl parties... my pops back in 1987 bought a 50" Mitsubishi, top of the line rear projection at the time. I thought it was the coolest thing ever (especially for playing Nintendo / Genesis games on growing up) and was the envy of my friends. Every year he threw a Superbowl party since he had the best TV out of all of his friends and I remember those nights as being awesome. Funny how with the technology changes how bad that TV really was by our standards today. It was so damn grainy/dim, like watching a TV today through 20 layers of saran wrap.

A few 3-4 years back he dropped $9999 on an 86" LG, which looks incredible today.

That ViewSonic flat CRT monitor alone would have made kids incredibly jealous! That was a pretty big deal around the time of the first Doom games and 'Lan Parties'. Every time I walk into Costco they have the latest, biggest TVs right there at the front. There is a 77 inch LG 4K OLED TV there for $2,699 with $100 streaming credit and $270 back in a Costco Shop Card included. I also get 4% / $108 cashback with extra warranty years by using my Citi Costco Visa card. That would be a final cost of $2,460 with tax, and I've really, really thought about it lately. The thing is, I hardly watch any TV these days. It would just be for random 'movie nights' with a few people, so it's kind of a waste. But wow that OLED puts the larger, more expensive Samsung QLED (fake OLED) to shame. (Costco has both and they never put them side by side either. lol) $3000 is still a lot to pay for a TV, but just look at what you get for that these days! Incredible.

Do you remember a product called "Jserve?" It was the first of its type (that I know of) where you could add another person to some LAN Doom Deathmatch via dial up. My father and I would play side by side in our computer room, but we'd bring in 2 of my friends via our 2 land lines @ 14.4 or whatever was cutting edge at the time and play some Doom DM with 4 people. It was pretty freakin' badass.

I've already got enough pain lol. The eye doctor really was way more than I planned. I have seen those kinds of set ups before and they're cool but I would feel claustrophobic real quick. I'm one of those people who can't sit still for anything (a total surprise I'm sure, what with my anxiety and all) so I need to have freedom to easily move around lol.

Thanks for the link! Yes, that was it. Super simple product by today's standards, but was really a game-changer in 1995. Going from playing death match with just 1 other person to playing with 3-4 was so damn awesome.
