I thought about that too - moving beyond 1yr6mo to 1yr7mo. Or this is more evidence for 'sub-binning' - commonplace with this type of regression - where things can be evaluated differently on the same scorecard based on the same metrics that are responsible for a full scorecard switch. This scorecard I'm on now may go from AoOA 3yr0mo to 4yr11mo, for example, but along the way AAoA could be responsible for changing the weighting of certain things. (This makes me think of that discussion you had with Thomas_Thumb about presence of an inquiry changing how things are weighted.)

Here is my 'Amount of New Credit' stats. I don't think my Average Ages crossed any meaningful thresholds. It appears the half year (6 months) threshold is really +1 month for this ranking system, e.g. 7 months and 1 year, 7 months. 1M = Poor, 24M AAoA 2M -> 3M = Poor -> Fair, 26M AAoA 6M -> 7M = Fair -> Good, 20M AAoA (Lost an old account lowering the AAoA) 11M -> 12M = Good -> Very Good, 25M AAoA 18M -> 19M = Very good -> Exceptional, 32M AAoA

It was the same way with EQ/TU8 as EX8. ( I have monthly EQ/TU8 updates with my Experian daily subscription. ) In February I will be at AoY(R)A 2yr0mo, and in March I will be at AAoA 3yr0mo. I got the exceptional rating same time you did at 1 year 7 months. I wasn't following the rating so I did not realize it occurred. I'm at 2 years 6 months AoYA/AoYRA at the moment. No points gained. I'm not sure if I will hit 3 years. At 2 years AoYA/AoYRA, I got 3 points on EX3. Once you get the 3 years AAoA, look out for changes in your AU8, BC8, EX8. I got 3, 4, 3. I don't know what my other ageing values are. I need to keep a closer track on them, eg. AAoRA.
