I got the card in June of 2021 with a $16,000 SL. I waited 6 months from account opening to see if the CLI link would appear on my account and it didn't. I phoned in a CLI request at that time, which after a couple of days was denied. One of the denial reasons cited was lack of deposit/investment account funds with BoA. At that time I dropped some cash into a checking account with them since they were offering a $300 SUB for doing so. I figured 2 birds, one stone... check off a CLI denial reason box and grab a SUB. I waited another 6+ months hoping that being a Preferred Rewards member may help that CLI link to appear on my account. No dice, so I gave it another couple of weeks and at about 14 months since account opening phoned in a CLI request.
The process only took maybe 2 minutes on the phone... they asked my income, mortgage payment and most important what limit I wanted. I requested $35k. The CSR said that I'd get an answer in several days but then moments later said a (counter) approval was there for $32,300, which I accepted. I'm glad I asked for what I did, as it seems I didn't leave anything on the table. Overall I think a doubling of my limit is a pretty good result, although it definitely took a lot longer than I expected / has been the case for me with most of my other lenders.
I set an alert in my phone for 6 months when I'll make another attempt, probably asking for something in the realm of doubling my limit again (maybe $65k?) and seeing if they counter again. Now that I'm back at 0/12 and scorecard reassignment has happened to No New Revolver my score on my BoA account as of the next update should be pinned back at 850, so that hopefully will be a good look for my next request.
