DW - AMEX BCE Approved - $15,400!

So this is a bit of a weird one for us, but it worked out like we hoped, so I won't complain. We have been doing a ton of work to the house, and we are almost ready to finish it out. I really didn't want to pull money out our savings, so we decided to put the remaining stuff we need on a card. I looked into using one of our existing rewards cards and then BT'ing to another one, but at best, I could buy the stuff with the AOD card and then BT it with a 3% fee and end up with no interest. This was the route we were going to go, but the issue I ran into was that the only "good" BT offers we had were either on rewards cards we use frequently, or low CL cards that would have nearly maxed out with the BT. I looked at low interest BT cards, but I've seen horror stories of people getting BT cards that have a $1K - $5K SLs. After thinking about it, I felt like based on our history with AMEX that we could get a pretty good SL, and and the 0% for 15 months is plenty of time to pay off the amount we need spend. The BCE has a $200 SUB, and will earn at 1% on anything we buy, so for the $5K or so we need to spend, we'll earn at least $250, which is basically flat 5% on it. The $15,400 SL is plenty to spend the $5K without temporarily wrecking her scores, so it worked out pretty great, and we'll end up with a fairly decent rewards card, even though we already have one. 0022D9BB-BB7A-43F0-A372-699193B9A72E.png
