I have a US Bank Cash+ with a $10k limit and an Elan Max Cash Preferred with a $20k limit. I use both for around $700/month, since the 5% back is capped at $2k of spend per quarter. I have tried countless times for CLIs on both, with my reports frozen. They try and fail to HP my TU every time. So neither limit has budged I’m considering the Altitude Reserve as my next card. My question is this: is it possible they would use a single HP for the new card app and both CLIs? Or, if I don’t app for the card, would they evaluate both CLI requests based on a single HP? Is it a roll-the-dice-and-hope thing, or can I ensure that they reuse the HP? I’m assuming I would do all of these things in a single day. I think that’s how people have obtained multiple MCP cards from a single HP.

While I don't know the answer for sure, my guess is that they wouldn't use the new trade line app HP for a CLI or CLIs as well. USB seems somewhat strict on the HP thing. Like you, I tried for SP CLIs multiple times on my Cash+ with my reports frozen and got TU alerts for attempts each time. I was always told to lift the freeze if I wanted to proceed. After that kept happening and I grew impatient, I just ate the HP. I've actually done two HP CLIs on my Cash+, about a year apart from one another. I'd be surprised if they were willing to use a single HP for 2 different things just based on my experience with them.
