Does V3 score inquiries the full 2 years?

Just checked my scores and my first inquiry just aged off. I see a rather hefty 15 point gain with no other changes other than my AoOA going from 23 to 24 months. My cards haven’t reported yet so it isnt uti changes

It's possible that AoORA 2y0m caused this. We don't have enough data on AoORA, but we know it's a 'thing' because I found a FICO lender-training document online that had a slide for it. I say that because AoOA alone won't cause any score changes, besides a scorecard shift to 'Mature' at 3y0m. That shift at 3y0m generally causes a high score loss - around -20pts - but my own loss was much less than what's been reported. I think it's because I hit AoORA 2y0m on that same date. Everyone else had the same AoOA/AoORA. Inquiries on VantageScore models are scorable for 2 years. When mine fell off, it was only a gain of +1 points.

That graphic / blurb about the alert is a bit off. It says now that the inquiry isn't on your report it shouldn't impact your score, but what about an inquiry that becomes unscoreable but is still on your report? The graphic sort of suggests there isn't such a thing as an unscoreable inquiry, which we know isn't the case.

I thought that was the case as well but being less familiar with vantage scores and the otherwise unexplained jump I was curious if my understanding of vantage was incorrect.

Reviving this thread as I was also under the impression VS 3.0 treats inquiries that have crossed the 1 year threshold, but remain on the report as unscoreable. That being said I had just gained +6 on both TU and EQ VS3.0 very recently as an inquiry on 1/21/23 crossed the year mark already, but now just had an inquiry from 2/5/22 age off the CK versions of my TU and EQ reports (can't pull my annualcreditreport ones for a few more days) and gained another 3 pts ea. No utilization or other aging metrics that I can think of impating my scores. Given that I have 1 less inquiry on EQ than TU, and the extra inquiry on TU is the same one that mentioned above that just crossed a year (from my BCP app), that gives 2 data points to suggest that VS3.0 does value inquiries over 1 yr old but less than 2yrs at 3pts. FWIW, Capital One credit wise (TU) also shows the +3 at the same time.

Yea it definitely is scored on VS the entire 2 years, I have mentioned it elsewhere with confirmed points gains at particular months

Me too: My post on myFICO in December 2019: "I'm going to put this here so it can be found in a Google search. (Googlebot watches this site like a hawk!) I had an inquiry at TU from December 7, 2017 that was reported as removed on today's (Dec 9, 2019) Wallethub report. My TU VS3 score went up +2pts. I know it's well known here that Vantage Score 3.0 counts all the inquiries that show on a report, even those over 1 year. I'm just posting how much it was affecting my score on a clean/young/thin file."
