Well ... It has been on my mind for several years to return to investing. Taking the plunge and picked up some hardware along the way. Really like many of their products. Dipping my toe into the pool now. Like the Fidelity Card for all the travel benefits as well as their rewards. It is an Elan product. It has benefits that pretty much are tied to just their card product.

Looks like a standard visa signature 2% card not seeing what makes it special?

The big perk of that card for most people who get it really is the fact once you have $2MM in investments there you get bumped to 3% cash back.

This. 3% on everything really adds up when you have someone in the house that spends $800 on a pair of heels every other month. lol (A new bag is required, which is much more.)

When I said 'every other month' I was being conservative. There's also brunch, hair, nails, dry cleaning for tons of stuff, Porsche Cayenne Turbo Coupe literally funnels gas onto the road as it moves, $800 in gas+electric bills, Morton's and Morton's-like places. I mean, 2 mil isn't even a lot considering all the various accounts Fidelity uses to come up with the number. A 50 year old man might as well get 3% back on all his Instagirl purchases. lol

You can say that about any cash back though really. It's going to largely be a rounding error for most people. Another way of looking at this though is that it's 50% more cash back than a 2% card. If you're going to chase cash back at all, 50% more is not insignificant.

2% vs 3% I don’t really care, if you really cared you have most of your spend in 5% cards, or the travel rewards structures which frankly with the proper spend and the travel to use the points beat out cb by a long shot. That I have to effectively hand over 2m as hostage for 1% more is just a nonstarter for me, for one nowhere near 2m and what I have is locked up in my tsp account I am not 100% sure I can even move… last year I had 26% growth, with my index heavy investment I would need a pretty hefty incentive to even consider moving what I could away from my current semi-self managed accounts even if I could and 1% extra uncategorized spend on a credit card is not it.

Truth ... I am moving to the investment side and the card is part of the bigger whole. Also, I do my own investing. Over the years I have done well on my own. Stockbrokers took a piece of the pie, and my return was diminished. To each his own. Yes, it does require research and in today's world there are many good tools. Time to Beefy up! Remember back in 2008 when I jumped in and acquired Bank of America for $4.55 a share. Old adage: "buy low and sell high" ... still rings in my ears. Further, I did something you never hear about, purchased stock in certain market sectors directly from the companies. Made even more money but ... the paperwork and tax activities were all mine and that is a major undertaking. Yes, I do use a CPA Firm who knows me and is easy to work with, so I appreciate they do the heavy lifting.
