Today, in reading around I found information about the potential all stock purchase of Discover.
Cap1 wants to move all of its Debit Cards to the Discover Network by the fall of 2025. As to credit cards there is potential for such an action. Cap1 sees itself as being a bigger credit card issuer than JP Morgan Chase. Cap1 does understand there is challenges of acceptance outside the United States.
It is suspected by growing the Discover Network and a little push for making Discover Cards a touch more upscale, there will be a three years' timeline.
Cap1 also forecasts moving some of their own Cap1 credit products over to the Discover Network using the same three-year period.
At Cap1 there is a realization there is work to be done to fix the Discover Network's International acceptance.
Captial One also said, they will do some testing and analytics as they look to make changes!
