CRA updates & time zones

What time zone do Equifax and TransUnion use for updating profile information on the 1st of the month?

I know Experian updates at Midnight in the Pacific time zone, but I don't recall reading about EQ/TU updates.

I'm adding the code to update aging metrics automatically on the 1st of the month and for now I just set it to what Experian uses.

I do not know. I do not recall reading about their time line either. I guess PT would be a safe approach.

Experian HQ - Costa Mesa, California
Equifax HQ - Atlanta, Georgia
TransUnion HQ - Chicago, Illinois

I’m not positive either, but I think Equifax is EST. Based on what he found TransUnion may be CST? For instance, when we first recognized the three-year mature threshold. I got it narrowed down to a six month period. On the major thread with Poppa, that was started in I think 2017 before they understood the significance, there’s a six-month period where it wasn’t discussed during which we came to the conclusion. It was discussed somewhere during that six months on another thread where we came to the conclusion. Where did we first come to the conclusion of two years for the mortgage scores? It was later. When was the 12 month new account threshold realized on 8/9? I know when I discovered 18 months on 5/4/2. I dare say more has been discovered/understood in the past 2.5 years than in the preceding 15-20 years in this niche. November 20 girlZila 24 & 30 month AoORA threshold find. She will like it here too i think. Wd be cool to make a thread with a timeline some of the major finds that I’ve chronicled in the Primer. Any volunteers?

PS: anyone that has a card with a credit limit of $31,000 or less that may be able to end up in the area between $31,000-$34,900, please let us know so we can try to get more data points to determine the exact exclusionary amount for version 2. It’s somewhere in between there and we don’t know exactly where, we need help narrowing it down.

Looking back at my old EQ ACR. Pulled 1/17 Saved file shows 3:53 PM PT. Report date shows 1/18 Pulled 5/11 Saved file shows 9:12 PM PT. Report date shows 5/12 Pulled 6/21 Saved file shows 9:22 PM PT. Report date shows 6/22 Pulled 8/27 Saved file shows 6:07 PM PT. Report date shows 8/28 :shifty:

We need you to test that and see whether or not you get the AZ loss on version two so we can narrow down the exclusionary range even more please. The range is somewhere within there were they stop counting towards Revolving Balances.

Cool, I can do that. It will take some time though since I'm at NZ right now. I also have a new account that I need to have show up first as to eliminate that variable from messing with results.

I just pulled my EQ ACR and it's 12:05pm EST and the report date is 8/31

I'm going to try and pull all 3 ACR reports tonight starting at 12:05am EASTERN.

Hopefully I don't fall asleep. I don't have set hours for work, and I work on code whenever I feel like it. I just have to beat the deadline and I'm way ahead of schedule on everything. So rather than take it easy until the next target time, I move on to other stuff and keep going like nothing's changed.

Like last night where I got a few hours sleep after being up most of the day. I'm not even sure how I am awake right now. lol

We need a group of people to try at 1:05am, 2:05am, and 3:05am EASTERN TIME ZONE (might not be your own zone). Just pick a time and and start pulling all 3. Then someone else can choose a different time.

With baseline 12:05am EST reports that will narrow down which timezone the CRAs are updating in.
Wouldn't it be interesting if Experian updates the ACR report on EST but gives it to us on their CMS in PST? I never tested it before.

@Cassie I'll try...want to assign me a time slot? I'm up and down all night long. Experian may not work as it hasn't for over a year now. Calling them doesn't help. TU gave me trouble last month, said to send in documentation which has never happened before but I'll try anywhoo.

The next best one for us in the Eastern Time Zone would be the 1:05am slot. So try that one? It might turn out that all 3 of them update on Eastern time via ACR and none of the other time slots matter anyway.

I requested all 3 ACR reports between 12:05am and 12:20am EASTERN TIME, on 09/01/2021. Experian and TransUnion don't show aging metrics like AAoA on their ACR reports. They just have the opening/closing dates. But they both show the report was generated on 08/31/2021. I have no statement closings until the 2nd, so I can't test it that way. I couldn't pass the Equifax verification. lol Something about an auto loan, and I never had one. That also happened last year. So I went to my.equifax.com and used my account there to pull a new report. They give you a free VS3 score each month now, so I checked that and the aging metrics were not updated for the 1st of September. They're a month behind what they should be now. TL;DR: It looks like all 3 CRAs don't update at Midnight in the Eastern time zone. Scratch 12:05am EASTERN off the list to check. Denied by Equifax over a mysterious auto loan question. I never had an auto loan. So I got it from my.equifax.com instead:

No hurry whatsoever. We just need to narrow it down, it’s somewhere between $31,000-$34,900 for EX2. As long as yours is a bankcard, it’ll cut the range in half. Then will have to find someone to narrow it down even further depending on which side it’s on.

It's a Citi card, no worries there.

Also since Citi hasn't been fond of my profile lately my next CLI with them will probably be a paltry $500-$1000, so I'll have another testing point! lol
