Ah how I long for this card!

Too bad I never even knew this card existed when I was a member for over a decade.

Then I burned them about 5-6 years ago w/ODs and have the constant reminder of a CA on my EQ CR.

I want to make things right with them and I can only hope to obtain this card one day!

Does joining La Montañita Co-op avoid geofencing and allow anyone to join?

@JNA1 Yes, thanks to @Saeren for teaching me that actually. The co-op is a partner and apparently they are contracted to accept co-op members and are not supposed to be able to refuse them. Even so, I think they have had some issues with out-of-state people and so they are known to try to geo-fence at times. But if you politely stand your ground and are a co-op member, ime, you will be accepted, but YMMV.

I think when geo-fences are bypassed it can raise an eyebrow with the lender a bit. I can't speak on the product that this thread about, but I've gotten that impression from dealing with another geo-fenced product from another lender (AOD). I've been told on the phone, "Well, we are a small local credit union sir..." almost as if to say "We see you're not located anywhere near us so you're not high on our list." I'm not saying that this is a make or break factor, but it's certainly something that lenders with geo-fencing see and I imagine consider at least slightly.

I would think so too. This is not a card that is really high on my list in the short term, but it is one that I may roll the dice with at some point.

I hope things end up working out with AOD for you eventually. When I got my card in June of last year, and when I got my first CLI in December, both the CSRs I talked to said they were overwhelmed at additional apps that card had brought on. Neither of the times I was dealing with them with during the huge MF wave, but by that time DOC and YouTube videos had driven the demand higher than they could handle with their small team.

I can imagine that a smallish lender that's geo-fenced could quickly grow irritated by a sudden rush over 6-12 months of applicants outside of the typical geo-fence and start getting stricter as a result.

Yes but the difference is Nusenda is the largest credit union in New Mexico, so that’s not the issue there. I think it’s just people who have abused it. If you’re not gonna abuse it, I don’t think you’ll have a problem.

To be honest I like the card it’s a PSCU backed CU, it’s got the traditional app that comes from PSCU, I think. Everybody says they have some of the fastest clearing transfers and ACHs they’ve seen. I think it’s a great credit union and it started out as a teachers credit union. I just think the card drew a lot of people and there were some people that abused it and they slowed it down a little bit probably discouraging OOS, but if they see your legitimate, I don’t think you’ll have an issue.

Because I was out of state I think is the reason they also ran a LEXIS-NEXIS on me where I haven’t had any other lender do that, except 1, IIRC.

Monster sized report relative to what you'd get from the Big 3. If my reports are say 13-15 pages from one of the Big 3, my LN report is like 47 pages.

Yeah they are a huge data aggregator and are the source of mini identity questions.
