Not a super clean data point in the least here since my accounts with balances also increased, but still good to see the drop impact across different bureaus and models.
The first screenshot shows my balances at the time of my "before" scores, where the second screenshot shows my balances at the time of my "after" scores with all of the score drops shown in the final image.
As you can see from the first 2 images, I went from 6 of 10 cards (9 BC, 1 store card) with balances to 9 of 10 cards with balances. Actually, it's 10 of 10 on EX/EQ since my Citi card actually updates on those bureaus, so the $0 balance on the Citi card from this TU image (WH) is unique to only that bureau since my Citi card doesn't update on TU.
Aggregate utilization moved from 1% --> 3%.
The score drops for F8 on EX/EQ are quite small at 4 points and 5 points respectively. I would have thought the additional accounts with balances could have done that on its own for EQ, where we know on EX that doesn't matter... so it seems to me that the individual card utilization increase is "worth" 4 points on my file for EX8. Pretty insignificant, IMO. TU8 was definitely impacted the most in terms of the Classic scores.
The mortgage scores dropped an average of 20 points each, pretty consistent.
It's also worth noting that there could be couple of points impacted by dollars here as well since I went from just under $1500 in reported revolving debt to just over $9000. If I were able to replicate this test with a tiny limit card (like $1000) going to 38% utilization my guess is that the score drops would be slightly less.
Also a side note something must be screwy with MF and their version 9 provided scores. My Classic 9, Auto 9 and BCE9 all exactly match each other for each bureau, which is pretty much impossible.- Tagline Goodwill Saturation Technique Author
