I just watched a review on the DFW CapOne lounge and I'm now obsessed and want the VentureX. Will adding checking and savings help with that goal? I know banks normally don't care but I've never done much research into CapOne.

It's the same. Sometimes their CreditWise site will pop an offer I've heard but I have never seen one.

Late reply I know, but I’m new here. I can’t say for certain, but banking with Capital One may have gotten me the Quicksilver. The unsecured version with no annual fee but no sign up bonus. Not a great card by any means, but the significant part is that I had absolutely nothing on my credit reports at the time. I couldn’t even pull them, that’s how much nothingness was there. I opened 4 banks accounts with Capital One just the month prior to applying. Checking and savings for me and an account for each of my kids. Mainly because they were free and the kids needed accounts. I took the pre approval on a whim and to my shock I got the card.

I think the best answer to this question is that no one really knows if banking with them (or any FI) can positively impact the CC side of lending, but most agree that it certainly can't hurt.
