You got it. I took 2 revolver inquiries for CLI‘s. I had absolutely none on record and now I have two scoreable and I didn’t lose any points and they’re not buffered because they were from banks not even credit unions. 800 throughout so no reason codes. Riddle me that Batman. Justaguy Clean/thick/mature/new revolver. TU8

Interesting DP (careful with that one, @AllZero). Which TU score? I don’t have perfectly clean data on TU, but I think the first inq costs me 1 point on TU8, and the second is around 5. Two freebies? That’s surprising.

@Justaguy what about TP? Toilet Paper? Was at zero inquiries. I took one Experian HP non credit related inquiry. No score change. Took another EX HP inquiry for my Affinity application. No score change with now two EX HP INQ (LOL ON ABBREV). Very confusing. All within a years scoreable timeframe.

The Affinity pull should hit the score 30 days later, I believe, did your account for that? TU8. I clarified the acronyms in the initial post lol! I’m kind of amazed. I’m wondering if the fact I had no inquiries in 24 months had anything to do with it or if the first two are just free on that scorecard maybe? Then again it could be the category specific buffers? If so they could interfere with our measurements of everything. This has really got me wondering. Is there another excuse? I pulled a brand-new 3B. Confirmed no score change. Weird.

Maybe the first one was free, and there was a simultaneous point gain that exactly offset the points lost for the second inquiry. The probability of that is low, but not zero. Seems hard to attribute this to category specific caps. Inquires fit in the New Credit category. In order to max that out, you would surely need a very old AoYA. I don’t get the sense you have that.

lol I'm with you on that one. I couldn't figure it out before he went back and edited the post. Also, my code isn't even looking at topic titles - only the post content. Even if I had them in the list it wouldn't have been tagged.

Correct you are, it was only 7 months now 8 months until things report, so I agree that excludes the categories specific buffers, if they exist. If I recall nothing else reported it was a clean datapoint I believe. Maybe it’s because it’s a new Revolver Scorecard? Either way pretty surprising and I look forward to confirmation of it by other Rebels.

Sorry, I don't have an answer for your original question. My previous post wasn't meant to spam your thread. :) When I was on a new account, thin, young profile, I would see the HP inquiry penalty right away. I was expecting the same. However, since I'm on a different scorecard, I guess things have changed? To affirm your 30 day later question. You are correct. I saw EX8 -3 points and EX2 -10 points deduction on day 30. I looked at before and after dates and no obvious changes that I am aware of besides reaching day 30. Note: I had all ready seen my new account penalty once new AFCU account showed up prior.

@AllZero thank you for the Datapoints. And yes it is the same. The difference is the inquiry is coded as a loan, so it is but for 30 days. A credit card will still hit immediately. Keep in mind many credit Union credit card inquiries miscode as loans.

Adding another confusing DP… I dropped from two scorable inquiries on TU to one today and I gained two points on TU8. Hard to reconcile that with my previous belief that the second one had cost me five points. 🤷‍♂️ I’m sort of tempted to take an HP for science. Hmmm…

Why not, right? I'm going to take a TU HP in the next week or two and will report back my findings. It should land a week or two prior to another TU inquiry becoming unscoreable, so I should get to see the +/- of the same point value pretty close together.

@Justaguy were you on the same scorecard then as you are now? Or did you change Revolver Scorecards? If it was on the same scorecard, something had to be conflated then or affecting it now. If you’re going to do it for science try to get one useful for testing those mortgage score cut off lol. You have established it’s higher than 40, right, but do we have any data points beyond that? and the other one is somewhere between 27 and 30. I’m trying to line mine up where I can get some in the right range as well. My next Navy puts me in range; affinity could now. Still waiting to hear about the CLI policy there.

Yes, same scorecard. I’ve been on clean/thick/mature/with new revolvers for the entire two+ years I’ve been in this hobby and paying attention to my scores. I’m in the happy position of not needing CLIs to test the mortgage scores’ card cutoffs. I have two BofA cards with a combined $80k in limits and they seem to have no qualms about letting me reallocate as much and as often as I want. Yes, you’re basically right about the ranges I’ve tested. TU4 and EQ5 treat $40k as a card. EX2 treats $27,100 as a card, but not $30k.

I got a clean DP on this today. My only inquiry is on TU and today is its first birthday. No conflating changes. I pulled a 1B report from MF a couple days ago and another today. I gained 2 points on TU8 and TU4.
