Does Discover count month has 30 day periods or by the day of the month?

It's most likely they're using the same standard date interval functions as everyone else. Those take into account the variable number of days in each month between 2 dates. For example, February can be 28 or 29. You can get a POSIX (Linux, what most servers are based on these days) duration/interval for 2 dates here: https://www.timeanddate.com/date/duration.html

While I don't know the actual answer, my guess would be 90 days.
