I don’t know how useful this data point is. Two weeks ago the Experian.com app told me my score was 759. Today it says 774. The only change in that time frame was the aging metrics. It appears to confirm what the Credit Scoring Primer calls Cassie's Rule of 3. I have 9 accounts; four closed student loan accounts, four credit cards, and one mortgage account. AoOA: 9.75 years AoOIA: 9.75 years AoORA: 3.25 years AoYRA: 0.25 years AoYA: 0.25 years AoOOMA: 1.25 years Monitoring my credit over the past year I have noticed that time has been the cause of the most frequent changes in my FICO scores. It feels satisfying seeing a double digit score increase. What are your thoughts on this information?

It's possible that Age of Youngest - all accounts and/or revolving only - at 3 months could have caused it. With EX8, it's more likely to be Average Age - of something, usually all accounts or just AAoA. I've seen small to moderate increases on EX8 when AAoA is a multiple of 3. I just got another +1 on EX8 on the 1st of this month, with no changes yet on any balance, but with AAoA reaching 3yr3mo. 39mo / 3 is a whole number (integer), with no remainder, so that's a multiple of 3 alright.

A couple of points @Credible . One, it's best to always express your aging metrics in months rather than decimals of years just for simplification purposes and how the algorithm works. For example .25 years is better expressed as 3 months. I'm assuming the aging values you gave are the "after" ones (as of June 1)? If that's the case, it means your AoYA / AoYRA went from 2 months to 3 months, correct? That's a bit easier to interpret than to say it moved to .25 years (from .17 years) if you know what I mean. Are you sure you had no reported balance changes / AWB changes during those 2 weeks? I know you said you have 4 revolving accounts, so maybe all 4 just land outside of that 2 week span? 15 points seems like quite a bit from aging, but I suppose on the right scorecard it's possible! Either way, nice pickup!

@BrutalBodyShots Thank you for the advice to only use number of months instead of decimals of years. I was assuming everyone would know I mean 3 months when I say 0.25 years. You are right that I am saying the aging values are all assuming the accounts were opened on the first. I know my reported account balances have not changed; my mortgage balance has changed, as the due date is on the first, but it always reports on the seventh, so the updated balance is not yet on any of my consumer reports. Otherwise my last credit card update was reported on 5/19 My utilization is at 1% and I have 2 credit cards reporting a nonzero balance. When I am back to AZEO I don't think I will see another score jump.

@Credible we understand what you mean, but because the algorithm does everything in months, so do we. You do an average age you might express your decimal 45.26 months. But the base is always months when dealing with Fico. AoYRA Does not give points except one time via the Scorecard reassignment it causes. Really it just triggers that which causes a recalculation on a new scorecard. Same with AoOA. IMHO, if it is a clean datapoint, it is a confluence of AoORA & AoYA at the least, the remaing could be contributing slightly, maybe. But I could be totally wrong and that could be a big threshold for one of the others remaining. But you see AoORA Gives a lot of points that people don’t realize. For instance, if you compare @Cassie’s score with others of similar oldest account, you will see their optimized baseline scores are different. She started with a loan. Which one do you think had the higher score?
